Mostar can be a destination in itself and a base for the wider region. Avoid trying to collect every stop in one rushed day.
Blagaj
A riverside settlement best known for the source of the Buna and the historic tekke beside it. It works well as a shorter outing with time to walk and sit by the water.
Počitelj
A steep historic settlement above the Neretva. Wear suitable shoes, take the climb slowly and allow time to notice the relationship between stone buildings and hillside.
Kravica
A waterfall landscape on the Trebižat River. Access conditions, water levels, facilities and swimming arrangements can change with season, so check before setting out.
Međugorje
A major Catholic pilgrimage destination. Approach it according to your own interests while respecting worshippers and the religious purpose of many spaces.
Trebinje
A longer excursion into southern Herzegovina, known for its river, old-town atmosphere and surrounding wine country. Consider an overnight stay rather than a hurried return.
Vjetrenica Cave · Špilja / Pećina Vjetrenica
This UNESCO World Heritage cave near Ravno is a major natural highlight of the southern Dinaric karst. It fits particularly well into a slower southern Herzegovina itinerary, including a stay around Trebinje; check the official entry schedule before travelling.
Sutjeska National Park
Farther east near Foča and Tjentište, this mountain landscape includes the Perućica forest reserve and Maglić. It is not a casual add-on to a short Mostar day: plan a dedicated full day or overnight and check current access and guide requirements.
Plan responsibly
Confirm opening hours, admission arrangements, weather and transport shortly before travel. Distances alone do not show how long a route will feel, especially when roads, parking or border plans are involved.
